""natural forces within us are the true healers of disease."

Bringing the best of Traditional, Holistic and
Anthroposophical Medicine to Your Family

Understanding Our Practice
At the Center for Living Health, we take the time to get to know and understand your child and family's unique needs, and believe in empowering parents with treatment options that will support the healing of the whole person, while gently nourishing and strengthening each child's inherent healing ability.

We favor the use of natural remedies and lifestyle changes over prescription medicines, but our providers have the training to recognize situations that call for the use of conventional medication as needed.

Meeting all your needs
Along with providing the highest level of medical care, we also offer Holistic and Anthroposophical remedies and ointments at a discounted price for our patients.  Our center has been designed with your healing in mind. From the water color lazured walls to the non-clinical design of the exam rooms, water fountains and non toxic cleaning products used throughout our building,  our office creates a tranquil environment for your visit.

What is Holistic Medicine
Holistic health involves the whole family.

Holistic health focuses on what the individual  needs, not a generalization. Each human being is seen as a unique individual with a spiritual as well as a physical and mental constitution, and needs to be treated accordingly.

Plans are created to maintain wellness and heal acute and chronic illnesses by exploring the physical, emotional and spiritual factors that impact wellness and illness in each individual.  Illness can have a significant impact on a child’s development and often are signs for what they need.Treatment programs  nourish the healing of an individual, while also recognizing each persons inherent healing ability.

Holistic and Anthroposophcial medicine call  for a time commitment on part of the family with a willingness and dedication to grow and learn. There are few if any quick fixes or magic solutions. Focus is on building relationships, challenging , and exploring conventional thought beliefs with the goal of achieving a greater state of health for the whole family.
What is Anthroposophical Medicine

Anthroposophical medicine brings a higher dimension to holistic health. It builds on conventional medicine by focusing on the health of the soul and spirit as well as on the physical body.

Developed by Rudolf Steiner, it offers a more balanced approach to your health by viewing the entire human being in its relationship to the universe in treating illness. It does not see illness merely as an unfortunate accident or mechanical breakdown, but rather as intimately connected to the whole person and potentially positive. If met and treated in an appropriate way, illness may bring a new balance and opportunities for growth in our lives.

It includes the use of European homeopathics and plant medicines, and specialty therapies in treatment.
Therapies
Medical services are complemented by healing therapies by independent practitioners with the Center for Living Health, including:

Craniosacral Therapy (CST) and Emotional Healing for Children and Adults, Linda Lazar Allen  916.452.9440

Balance. Harmony. Inner peace.

These are the qualities Linda Lazar Allen strives to help her clients attain as a craniosacral therapist at the Center for Living Health. Her sessions follow a holistic and anthroposophic approach of bringing balance to and treating the whole human being, not just the symptoms of injury or illness. As a whole body therapy, Craniosacral Therapy is a safe, gentle modality proven to help stop pain without medication.

Linda is skilled in listening to the subtle rhythms of the body to find and release restrictions that can cause neurological stress, tension and pain. The body often aligns itself around tissue microstructures in the brain and spinal cord. Many of these restricted structures are repeatedly one of the most important components of somatic dysfunction.

This work is very unique among treatment modalities because it can have a tremendous therapeutic effect on the brain, spinal cord and nervous system.

Her nurturing touch gently reveals and nourishes our gifts within, supporting the inner wisdom of the body’s own self
healing. Sessions can help ease the challenges brought on by a person's physical, emotional, and spiritual constitution, assisting us to achieve a better balance and integration of all the forces operating within the body. The results can be life changing.

Clients may notice they feel calmer and centered, can breathe more easily and deeper, notice less pain, and that emotional boundaries are easier to maintain.  Sessions are often used for the treatment of:

?Emotional distress (anxiety, stress, depression, worry, etc.)
?Traumas (falls, accidents, physical, sexual or emotional abuse,
                      loss/grief, surgeries)
?Migraines and other Headaches
?Chronic and Acute Neck and Back Pain
?Support through Life Changes
?Nervous System Disorders
?Injuries  (including motor vehicle &  sports injuries)
?Joint Pain
?Immune System Support

PEDIATRICS
Linda is known for her special connection with the children she works with.  Gentle and non-invasive,
craniosacral therapy is effective in ways children can intuitively recognize.

She believes in the importance of developing trust, and empowering children to become cooperative participants in their healing process by teaching them tools to calm themselves, relieve pain and feel safe. Linda also incorporates elements of sensory integration, guided imagery, and storytelling to help calm and focus children during sessions.

An important part of her work with children is helping to ease transitions through developmental stages in life (kindergarten to 1st grade, 9 and 12 year change, adolescence, etc.).  Her work helps support and nourish children through these critical stages.

Parents often notice that their children are more relaxed, can focus better in school, and have an easier time with transitions.  Many are astounded to see their hyperactive or tense child relax or even fall asleep during the session. Children tend to feel calmer, can focus easier, and are better able to deal with the stressful demands of school.

Other pediatric challenges Linda’s sessions have helped with include:

?Sensory Processing Disorders
?Headaches
?Birth Trauma
?Colic, Tantrums, Irritability
?Emotional fears, Anxiety
?ADD/ADHD/Learning Disabilities
?Injuries (accidents, sports injuries, etc.)
?Children with Special Needs, Autism Spectrum
?Developmental Delays
?Neurological Dysfunction
?Proprioceptive/Balance issues
?Immune System support

Therapeutic Eurythmy with Marion Hesse    916.962.2817
Movement therapy that brings balance to body, mind and soul. Therapeutic Eurythmy is a combination of sound and movement to inspire healing  developed based on the teachings of Rudolf Steiner, the founder of anthroposophy. Eurythmy is used to bring about a harmonious connection between body and soul.  Sounds, such as the vowels A and E or the consonants B and M, are translated into fluid movements.

The therapy is preceded by medical diagnosis so the movements, which are specific to a disease, can be individually adapted to match the individual's specific health needs. This treatment is used for acute and chronic illnesses, muscle tension, pain, stress-induced illness, and mental problems (such as anxiety and depression), and for inner balance and harmony.
